In the morning we have breakfast in a pasticceria. Finally a perfect cappuccino for breakfast!
The upcoming farewell and the end of the journey make me a bit sentimental.
Today I'm doing preparations for the day's ride alone. I want to get to Munich on the Autobahn, because the route on minor roads would take me too long.
As we say goodbye, my fellow rider and I hope that our friendship, which has developed in this short time, can be continued despite the far distance. I am determined to visit him when we may be on holiday in Carinthia next year.
We take a some pictures and then I'm heading for Germany. I'm making good progress on the motorway, but the queue in front of the ticket office on the last motorway service area in Italy - where I want to buy the vignette (toll) for Austria - is very long and time consuming. Passing through Austria isn't cheap, because even for the Tauern tunnel I have to pay 10 euros, just as much as a car.
From a bit of shivering in the mountains, I'll probably catch a fierce cold, which will affect me the following week.
I arrive early in the evening at the apartment of Barbara and Brian in Munich. Here in city traffic, I notice that I am back in Germany, because changing the lane in a traffic jam in the city let a Mercedes driver horn aggressivly at me. Well, obviously I cheated him from his pull position on the 30th place in front of the traffic lights. Oh how beautiful was riding in the south!
It's Brian's birthday today, so my smartphone told me in the morning at 10 o'clock. It is a bit embarrassing for me for having invited me that day, but on the other hand it is always very relaxed and funny with the two of them.
First of all, I marvel at the new apartment they recently moved into and after we've all worked a while on the laptops, we have a fun hangout session with Brigitte. We give her a virtual apartment visit.
Together we go out for dinner - delicious Peruvian - and Brian even invites me. Ok, now I finally know how to do it. Just invite yourself to a birthday and then get fed up ;-). As usual with Brian and Barbara, the evening ends with chatting until the late night.
