Benicàssim to Barcelona
I wake up early and walk to the beach, which I did not look at in the evening in the daylight, because the food was more important to me. The beach and the water are so inviting that I return to the hotel to get my swimming suit and towel.
No mentally normal Spaniard would come up with the idea of jumping into the water at these temperatures, but I really need it. For a Baltic swimmers, this is warm water.
After shower and breakfast, I want to ride on, even if I get offered by the hotel to stay until lunch time, because they are not very full. Although I do not have that many miles left today, I do not want to arrive in Barcelona too late.
A quick check shows that the rear tire has probably lost some tire pressure. So I ride to the next gas station, increasing the tire pressure again and fueling up.
Shortly afterwards, I am caught by two motorcycle patrol officers as I ride over a stop sign. Such a crap. The fine is 100 Euros, when paying immediately. Although suspect they tricked me, but I now I checked the location in Google Maps and, unfortunately, have to admit that they were right. Well, somehow the two expensive BWM 1200 RT have to be financed as well.
In Salou, just before Taragona, I have a lunch break. On the table of the restaurant with beach view I see an advertisement, that Pescaito frito are offered here. I ask if they really have it. Yes, hurray! This is one of my favorite dishes! The servant makes me happy. In return, I make him happy, because he has probably bet with a guest or colleague about how many liters will fit in the tank of my bike. His reaction on my answer is like a "I did know it" or "I'm right" into the direction of his betting partner.
The beaches around here are still the best that Spain has to offer. Unfortunately I have no time to enjoy it. Barcelona is calling.
Along the coast I ride to Barcelona and am quite early at the AirBnB hosts. I have rented a room from Alba and Albert. A nice room with a narrow bed for one person and a private bathroom including breakfast. In addition, the apartment is very nice and there is a wonderful roof terrace. In addition, it turned out in the communication in advance, Alba speaks German pretty well. The two are super nice hosts! Once again, I've been lucky.
Alba greeted me and had already inquired about a garage parking nearby. Unfortunately, it should turn out that this should cost 22 Euros per day instead of 22 Euros for 2 days. But on the other hand, the bike has somehow earned this luxury.
After the obligatory shower, I go for a first walk. Of course there are a lot of tourists here. Since the French have holidays, there's more French than Spanish to hear on the streets. I enjoy driftiung through the streets and alleys of Barcelona.
Later, I ate something and then got a bottle of red wine that I shared with Albert back in the apartment, who was home alone and with whom I had a lively conversation until Alba returned from babysitting. A very nice evening.
