The final organization for the motorcycle transport has changed significantly, see the packing list, which is up-to-date, as it serves as a template for Air Canada Cargo.
Motorcycle transport
I intend to leave handlebar gaiters, sleeping bags and motorcycle boots on the motorcycle during motorcycle transport as air cargo, as far that is possible.
Furthermore, a lot things have to be repackaged for motorcycle transport. On the motorcycle itself no hazardous goods may remain, such as lithium/ion batteries.
Therefore, these items have all to be repackaged into the backpack, since they can only be taken as hand luggage.
All things from the topcase will be repacked into the Backpack or into the right pannier.
The topcase will be filled with:
- helmet
- motorcycle pants
- gloves
- balaklava
The right pannier will be repacked a bit and will contain the following items:
- electronics box #2
- telephoto lens
- bag with thermal underwear
- cable ties (resealable)
- compressor
- levers for tire changex
- torque wrench
- tool box #1
- tool box #2
- tool box #3
- cotton bag
- belt
- medicine
- water treatment
- detergent
Additional from the topcase:
- tripod
- box with line
- detergent / pegs
- stove
- toilet tissue
- handkerchiefs
- pac-safe (wire lock)
- Ortlieb dry bag red
- Ortlieb dry bag black
- folding shovel
- kitchenware
- Ortlieb water bag (5l)
Following items must be repacked from the Tank Bag into the Backpack:
- Nikon remote control (receiver/transmitter)
- batteries for Nikon and ActionCam / battery charger for ActionCam
- batteries
- Spot GPS position transmitter
